inner mechanisms with steak

in black and white
the well-groomed and steady doctor
talks to the camera
about digestion and revolutionary medicine

we can now see the contents of the stomach
he says as the camera pans down
and a patient is revealed asleep
with this new surgical procedure
a piece of steak can be viewed as it digests

the camera moves slowly to his face
which is completely without expression
a revolutionary window to our inner mechanisms

creepy music pipes up as the camera zooms into his eye
transforming into a dark rectangle
framing a barely discernable chunk of meat
in a pool of gray liquid, sizzling

the steak
his factual voice informs those of us
unsure of what it is we are witnessing on our television sets.
